European training network for development of personalized anti-infective medical devices combining printing technologies and antimicrobial functionality

The final training school programme is released.

'We are very pleased to have Prof. Paul Cos (University of Antwerp, Belgium), Niels Klop and Ruud Schreurs (3D Lab, Amsterdam UMC), Prof. Tom Coenye (Ghent University, Belgium), Dr. Theofilos Papadopoulos (Western Macedonia University of applied sciences, Greece), Dr. Simone Schulte (Evonik, Germany) and Prof. Matthew Fields (Center for Biofilm Engineering, Montana State University, USA) as key note speakers during the training school', says Dr. Martijn Riool, the Summer School organizer and PRINT-AID member.

Additionally, a 3-day practical course with supporting lectures is organised, followed by a Master class. The experimental program at the Amsterdam UMC at the University of Amsterdam aims at antimicrobial activity testing (MIC/MBC, JIS, agar diffusion, biofilms etc.), antimicrobial resistance, and immune responses (histology, microscopy etc.). The students can bring their own samples for testing too!


Combined AMiCI & PRINT‐AID Training School 2019 - 'Training school on antimicrobial surfaces testing'

will be organised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands April 8th-12th 2019. 

The Summer School will be incorporated within the AMiCI COST Action 'Training school on antimicrobial surfaces testing'.
